Nigeria and the Kingdom of the Netherlands have renewed their resolve to deepen diplomatic and economic ties, reaffirming a shared commitment to closer bilateral engagement.
The pledge was made during a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, where the Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Dunoma Ahmed, hosted the Netherlands’ Sahel Envoy, Mr Robert Zimmerman, alongside his delegation. Discussions centred on strengthening cooperation and responding to common regional and global concerns.
Both parties reflected on the enduring relationship between Nigeria and the Netherlands, which has spanned more than six decades, and identified opportunities for expanded collaboration across priority sectors. These include trade and investment, energy transition, agriculture, water resources management, youth development, migration governance, maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea, counter-terrorism efforts and multilateral engagement.
