Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has extended congratulations to Malaysia as the country celebrates its Independence Anniversary.
In a statement signed by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, it was noted: “This anniversary symbolises the resilience, unity, and determination of the Malaysian people in building a sovereign, prosperous, and harmonious nation. Nigeria joins Malaysia in celebrating this historic milestone, reflecting our shared aspirations for peace, progress, and mutual respect among nations.”
Nigeria and Malaysia have enjoyed a longstanding and friendly relationship, with strong cooperation in areas such as trade, education, investment, and multilateral engagement.
Both nations also collaborate closely within international platforms including the Commonwealth, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), D-8, and the United Nations, working together to promote global peace, sustainable development, and South-South cooperation.
“On this joyful occasion, Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations with Malaysia, exploring new areas of collaboration, and deepening the bonds of friendship and partnership between our two countries.”
“Once again, Nigeria extends heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Malaysia, wishing them continued peace, prosperity, and progress,” the statement concluded.
