The ministry reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to constructive engagement, dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect among member states.
It also pledged that Nigeria would work closely with other members of the Council to advance its mandate of promoting and protecting human rights globally.
“Nigeria reiterates its commitment to constructive multilateral engagement and supporting initiatives that uphold human dignity, justice and respect for fundamental freedoms,” the ministry stated.
The government added that it looked forward to strengthening international efforts to improve human rights conditions and protect fundamental freedoms during Nigeria’s membership of the Council.
