The NGX Weekly Recap recorded a decline in the value of transactions traded by investors on the Exchange. Stock market investors traded a total of 3.903 billion shares worth ₦102.221 billion in 114,484 transactions on the floor of the Exchange this week.
This contrasts with a total of 3.566 billion shares valued at ₦115.403 billion that exchanged hands last week in 99,960 deals.
The Financial Services Industry led the activity chart with 2.030 billion shares valued at ₦41.934 billion, traded in 42,959 transactions.
This contributed 52.02 per cent and 41.02 per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value, respectively.
The Services Industry followed with 396.590 million shares worth ₦4.596 billion in 8,105 transactions.
In third place was the Agriculture Industry, with a turnover of 385.704 million shares worth ₦14.469 billion in 10,515 deals.
Trading in the top three equities Fidelity Bank Plc, Access Holdings Plc, and Zenith Bank Plc—accounted for 864.681 million shares worth ₦25.955 billion in 15,136 transactions.
This contributed 22.16 per cent and 25.39 per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value, respectively.
The NGX All-Share Index and Market Capitalisation appreciated by 1.57 per cent and 1.92 per cent, closing the week at 119,995.76 and ₦75.962 trillion, respectively.

Similarly, all other indices finished higher, with the exception of the NGX Oil and Gas Index, which declined by 2.23 per cent.
Seventy-eight equities appreciated in price during the week, higher than 55 equities in the previous week.
Twenty-seven equities declined in price, lower than 42 recorded the week before, while 43 equities remained unchanged, compared to 51 in the previous week.
Top five decliners for the week were Multiverse Mining, Associated Bus Company, Oando, BUA Foods, and DAAR Communications, which declined by 9.33 per cent, 9.26 per cent, 7.38 per cent, 6.46 per cent, and 6.15 per cent, respectively.
Top five gainers for the week were Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals, Ellah Lakes, International Breweries, CWG Plc, and Champion Breweries, which gained ₦2.24, ₦1.67, ₦2.90, ₦2.30, and ₦1.80, respectively.
They appreciated by 60.54 per cent, 31.33 per cent, 26.36 per cent, 25 per cent, and 21.95 per cent, respectively.
