The all Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 21 Local Government Areas in the 2026 Kogi State local government elections.
The results were announced by the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) after the completion of collation at its headquarters in Lokoja.
The KOSIEC Chairman, Mamman Nda-Eri, who declared the results, said the APC won all chairmanship and councillorship seats across the state’s 21 LGAs and 239 wards.
He described the exercise as peaceful, credible and conducted in accordance with electoral guidelines.

Nda-Eri commended security agencies, election observers, journalists and voters for their orderly conduct throughout the exercise.
He said the successful conduct of the polls marked the completion of the 13 activities outlined by the commission for the 2026 local government elections, which began almost a year ago.
The chairman added that Certificates of Return would be issued to the winners in due course.
Meanwhile, the outgoing chairmen and councillors, who were sworn in on Oct. 23, 2024, are expected to leave office this month in line with the two-year tenure stipulated in the state’s electoral law.
