Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has recalled former Commissioner for Information, Mr Taiwo Olatunbosun, to the State Executive Council, barely one week after dissolving his cabinet.

This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Yinka Oyebode.

According to a recall letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habaibat Adubiaro, and dated 18 August, Olatunbosun is to continue in his role as Commissioner for Information. The recall takes immediate effect.

Governor Oyebanji had, in a major shake-up, dissolved the State Executive Council on 11 August, directing commissioners and special advisers to hand over to permanent secretaries or the most senior civil servants in their ministries, departments and agencies.

At the time of the dissolution, six commissioners  including those overseeing Finance, Works, and Human Capital Development were retained to ensure continuity in critical sectors of government.

The governor explained that the dissolution was intended to inject fresh energy into governance while reaffirming his commitment to his “shared prosperity” agenda.
