Canadian singer Celine Dion has made her return to live music, performing her first full concert in six years before about 30,000 fans at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, near Paris, France.
The 58-year-old singer took the stage on Saturday, Sept. 12, opening the emotional performance with her French ballad On ne change pas as the audience welcomed her back.
Dion had withdrawn from live performances after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological condition that affected her ability to perform and led to the cancellation of several shows.
Appearing emotional during the opening number, Dion told the audience, “I am everything I am because you loved me.”
Reflecting on the challenges she had faced, the singer said she had continued to hold on to “a faint ray of light” throughout her difficult period.
The performance marked the start of a 26-concert engagement at the arena, comprising 16 shows scheduled for September and October and a further 10 planned for May 2027.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Dion said she was ready to “sing for you, sing for myself, sing for life.”
