Bosun Tijani Inaugurates Renovated Digital Park in Kano

Dr. Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, has officially inaugurated the newly renovated digital Industrial Park in Kano.

The facility, completed in 2024 but vandalized during the nationwide protest of August 1st, has now been fully restored through the intervention of IHS Towers. It is set to begin operations immediately.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Tijani described Kano as ripe for digital transformation, highlighting that the state recorded the highest number of applicants for the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme. He praised the youth for their drive and readiness to embrace technology.

In recognition of his efforts, the Kano State Government, through Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, honored Dr. Tijani with the traditional title of Sarkin Yakin Digitalization, meaning the Grand Commander of Digitalization.

The event drew dignitaries from across government, traditional institutions, and the private sector.

The Governor commended Dr. Tijani’s commitment and applauded the role of public-private partnerships in advancing the digital economy. With the park now operational, the state anticipates increased tech innovation, job creation, and digital inclusion across Northern Nigeria.
