An Anambra lawmaker, Mr Anayo Okpalaeke, representing Aguata Constituency I in the Anambra State House of Assembly, has enrolled 150 constituents into the state’s health insurance scheme.
Okpalaeke speaking on Saturday during a community outreach held at Achina in Aguata Local Government Area. He said hid aim was to improve access to quality healthcare and support the wellbeing of residents in his constituency.
He emphasised that healthcare is not a privilege but a basic right every citizen should enjoy.
“I want my constituents to receive quality healthcare without worrying about the cost.
With this health insurance card, you can walk into any hospital and access care free of charge,” he stated.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to people-centred initiatives, especially in the area of healthcare delivery.
He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration for strengthening the state’s health insurance system.

“Any truly people-focused government must prioritise healthcare, infrastructure, and essential services,” he noted.
He praised Soludo’s leadership as an example of responsive and inclusive governance.
Okpalaeke also pledged to remain accountable and present an annual stewardship report to his constituents.
Archbishop Titus Orji, a beneficiary, hailed the gesture, describing it as a worthy investment in human health.
Another beneficiary, Mrs Dorothy Udoye, also thanked the lawmaker for prioritising the needs of vulnerable community members.
