Troops of the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have rescued 47 persons, mostly women and children, held captive by ISWAP terrorists in Kangarwa, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, the rescue operation followed sustained offensive pressure against terrorist enclaves in the Lake Chad region.
Goni noted that continued ground and air operations forced the terrorists to abandon their positions, creating an opportunity for the captives to escape from prolonged captivity.

The rescued persons are currently receiving medical attention at a secure location, with humanitarian support being provided in coordination with relevant agencies to support their recovery and reintegration.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Operation HADIN KAI troops to degrade ISWAP networks while protecting civilians affected by terrorist activities across the North East.
