President Tinubu Approves 65 Ambassadors To Key Global Missions

Former Legislators Back Tinubu Ahead 2027 Presidential Elections

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors comprising 31 career and 34 non-career diplomats to key missions around the world, including Nigeria’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

A statement by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, said the President has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to commence an induction programme immediately for the ambassadors-designate and high commissioners ahead of their deployment.

The statement added that the United Kingdom has granted agrément for Nigeria’s High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, while France has also issued agrément for Ambassador Ayo Oke.

According to the Presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formally communicated the nominations of the remaining 62 envoys to their respective host countries and requested the necessary agréments in line with established diplomatic protocols.

“These appointments are expected to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement, enhance strategic partnerships, and advance the country’s foreign policy priorities across critical regions worldwide,” the statement said.
