Chelsea have confirmed Liam Rosenior as their new head coach following the dismissal of Enzo Maresca, the Premier League club announced on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old has agreed a long-term contract running until 2032, becoming the fourth permanent head coach to take charge at Stamford Bridge since Todd Boehly-led ownership took over the club in 2022.
Rosenior arrives from French side Racing Strasbourg, where he was appointed in July 2024 after previous coaching roles at Derby County and Hull City. During his debut season in France, he guided Strasbourg to European qualification for the first time in 19 years, earning widespread praise for his work.

Reacting to his appointment, Rosenior described the opportunity as a major honour, highlighting Chelsea’s rich tradition and competitive identity. He said the club’s history and ambition made the role particularly special.
Chelsea will now look to Rosenior to bring stability and long-term progress as the club continues its rebuilding process under the current ownership.
