In a major milestone for Nigeria’s digital transformation, Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) has been ranked first overall in the 2025 Federal Government Website Performance Scorecard.
The ranking, conducted by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), evaluates digital excellence, transparency, and service delivery across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The award was presented to GBB’s Managing Director and CEO, Professor Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju, during a ceremony in Abuja. Commenting on the recognition, Professor Adeyanju said it validated the agency’s “Nigeria First” data sovereignty strategy and its commitment to delivering outstanding digital services.
The accolade comes as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to achieve a fully paperless civil service by 31 December 2025. Galaxy Backbone has been central to this transition through its 1Gov Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform, which now supports operations across nearly all federal MDAs.
The recognition adds to GBB’s growing list of achievements in 2025, following its recent award for the “International Standard Excellence Award for Best IT Service Provider.”
As the central hub for government shared services, Galaxy Backbone’s performance serves as a model for other agencies undergoing digital transformation. With its expanded fiber-optic network spanning over 13 states and secure cloud solutions, GBB continues to play a pivotal role in Nigeria’s ambition to become a leading digital nation by 2030.
