Preparations are in full swing for the 2025 edition of the IPADA Festival Celebration, a 10-day cultural and tourism showcase designed to unite people of African descent and African heritage enthusiasts from around the world. The festival is scheduled to take place from November 28 to December 6, 2025, at La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort in Lagos State.
The event will highlight Africa’s cultural richness, tourism potential, and the spirit of unity among its nations. Ambassador Wanle Akinboboye, President of La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort and founder of the IPADA Initiative, emphasized that Africa’s advancement depends on unity and strategic collaboration, particularly through tourism and cultural exchange.
Akinboboye noted that Africa, despite being richly endowed with natural and cultural resources, is often perceived as poor due to fragmentation. He stressed that tourism cannot flourish in isolation and called for intercontinental cooperation to project the continent as a unified destination, drawing a parallel with Europe’s Schengen system.
Reviewing 2024 achievements, Akinboboye described IPADA’s progress as “remarkable,” highlighting partnerships with six international bodies, including the governments of Vanuatu and Rwanda, to replicate La Campagne’s eco-tourism model. Key initiatives included the “From Slave Ships to Cruise Ships” project, the Ubuntu Towers Project in Lekki, the Taraba Experience featuring five Agro-Ecotourism Heritage Resorts, and the Blossom Retreats for young women’s mentorship.
Looking ahead, the 2025 festival will focus on boosting daily tourism traffic, targeting 100,000 visitors moving across Africa daily via the IPADA platform. Emphasis will be placed on agro- and eco-tourism as tools for youth empowerment and rural development, blending farming, recreation, and cultural education while generating income for local communities.
The IPADA Initiatives Celebration is expected to attract thousands of participants, reinforcing cultural reconnection and cementing Africa’s position as a unified global tourism powerhouse.
