Tunisia’s former world number two, Ons Jabeur, has announced that she is expecting her first child and will take an extended break from professional tennis.
“I took a little break to reset and recharge … Turns out, we’ve been planning the cutest comeback ever,” the 31-year-old wrote on Instagram, revealing that she is expecting a baby boy in April.
Jabeur, a three-time Grand Slam runner-up and winner of five WTA singles titles, said she would be stepping away from the sport temporarily to focus on her family.

The Tunisian star, currently ranked 79th in the world, has previously spoken openly about her battle with depression and the mental toll of the professional tour.
Her announcement comes amid growing debate over the demanding tennis calendar and its impact on players’ physical and mental well-being.
