The Nigerian Army has released the official portrait of Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the 25th Chief of Army Staff, urging the public and media organisations to update their records accordingly.
In a statement, the Army requested that previous photographs, particularly those showing the Chief of Army Staff at the rank of Major General, should no longer be used in publications. The initial portrait previously issued through the Army’s official channels is also to be disregarded.
The Nigerian Army expressed appreciation for the professionalism and commitment of media practitioners, highlighting their crucial role in ensuring factual and responsible reporting that supports national security.
