Reality TV star and entrepreneur, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has successfully completed her 24-hour Guinness World Record attempt for the most makeovers done in a single day.
The media personality wrapped up the marathon session at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, Lagos the same venue where she began the challenge on Saturday evening.
Tacha’s record bid, held as part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, aimed to highlight creativity, speed, and precision in professional make-up artistry.
Despite experiencing brief technical hitches, including a mini power outage in the early hours of the challenge, Tacha remained undeterred, maintaining a steady pace throughout the 24-hour period.
By the end of the session, she had completed makeovers on 145 models — surpassing the current Guinness World Record of 113 which included both men and women of diverse body types and skin tones. Influencer Mitchy, Venita Akpofure, and the duo Wanni and Handi were among the participants.
Each transformation was documented through professional headshots and runway showcases, forming part of the festival’s vibrant programme.
The event drew an impressive turnout of celebrities, influencers, and public figures, including Alex Unusual, Toke Makinwa, Dabota Lawson, Soma Anyama, Slimcase, Ice Prince, and Egungun of Lagos. The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Idris Aregbe, was also in attendance.
Tacha, who rose to fame after featuring in Big Brother Naija Season 4, is now awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records, which will verify the attempt before declaring her an official record holder.
She said her record-breaking ambition was inspired by her desire to celebrate creativity, consistency, and the strength of Nigerian women in the global beauty industry.
