NAF Partners with LASU to Boost Indigenous Aerospace Technology

In a renewed effort to advance indigenous aerospace engineering and innovation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) participated in the 7th Research and Innovation Fair of Lagos State University (LASU), held from 8–9 October 2025 in Lagos.

The initiative aligns with the strategic vision of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, to strengthen collaborations with academic and research institutions, enhancing Nigeria’s self-reliance in aerospace technology and effective airpower delivery.

Representing the CAS, the Chief of Transformation and Innovation, Air Vice Marshal Adeniyi Amensilola, reiterated that the partnership between the NAF and LASU is pivotal for advancing indigenous technical capacity through joint research and innovation.

He highlighted that the fair provides a vital platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, reflecting the NAF’s commitment to achieving operational excellence through home-grown technological solutions.

The fair, themed “Promoting the Quadruple Helix Collaboration: Government, University, Industries and Community,” underscores the NAF’s strategic approach to integrating research-driven innovation into its operations. It also builds on the renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the NAF and LASU on 17 May 2025, reinforcing a productive partnership that began in 2013.

Through this ongoing collaboration, the NAF continues to strengthen its research and development efforts, leveraging cutting-edge technology and strategic alliances to sustain innovation-led airpower delivery in Nigeria.
