Worker's day: Gombe Governor Salutes Workforce for Dedication, Productivity

The assessment, which reviewed fiscal transparency across all 36 states and the FCT in the second quarter of 2025, classified Gombe among the “Progressive Performers,” just behind Ekiti State, which led with a single-point advantage.

The report attributed this exceptional performance to the “strong commitment to openness and accountability of Gombe in the implementation of projects and policies under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.”

It highlighted that Gombe State particularly excelled in the timely publication of key fiscal documents, such as its Approved Budget, Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), Citizens’ Budget, and Quarterly Budget Implementation Reports (BIRs).

“The state also stood out for maintaining an updated e-procurement portal and a functional website with fiscal data, ensuring easy public access to financial information,” the report noted.

This remarkable achievement underscores Governor Yahaya’s consistent efforts to prioritise open governance and transparency in policy and project execution.

The Governor’s dedication to accountability is fostering fiscal discipline while providing citizens with clear insights into how resources are managed and spent.

In a nation where fiscal opacity often impedes progress, Gombe State’s accomplishments have set it apart as a model of transparency and efficient resource management. Its commitment to good governance is building public trust, attracting investors, and garnering support from development partners.

Already performing strongly across most indices, Gombe State is poised to maintain its leadership in fiscal transparency and continue serving as a benchmark for governance reforms across Nigeria.
