Ercan Osmani delivered a stunning performance for Turkey as they overpowered Greece 94-68 on Friday to book a EuroBasket final clash with Germany.
Osmani set the tone early, sinking all four of his three-point attempts and scoring 14 points in the opening quarter. Turkey hit the first basket of the game and never looked back, keeping control throughout.
The 27-year-old power forward was near unstoppable, making 11 of his 15 shots to finish with 28 points and six rebounds. He also excelled defensively, helping contain Greece’s talisman Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was held to just 12 points.
Turkey, whose best EuroBasket showing was a silver medal on home soil in 2001, will now meet Germany in Sunday’s championship game. Greece will battle Finland for the bronze after the Finns lost to Germany earlier on Friday.
