The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has commended the Kogi State Government for its substantial investment in primary healthcare centres across the state.
The Executive Director of the NPHCDA, Dr Muyi Aina, gave the commendation during a meeting with National Health Fellows (NHFs) and Performance and Financial Management Officers (PFMOs) on Friday in Lokoja.
Aina praised the state government’s efforts in strengthening primary healthcare, while appealing for additional support to further enhance healthcare delivery across communities.
He encouraged the Health Fellows and PFMOs to share experiences on best practices, commending their contributions to improving quality healthcare services in the state.
During his visit to the revitalised Primary Healthcare Centre in Obuburu, Idanuha Ward, Adavi Local Government Area, Aina expressed satisfaction with the level of work carried out.
“We appreciate the state government’s commitment to revitalising primary healthcare centres across Kogi. This investment will significantly improve healthcare delivery and outcomes for the people,” Aina said.
He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for championing the renewed health sector investment initiative, which has created more opportunities for young people to serve as Health Fellows and PFMOs.
Aina urged health workers to maximise the opportunity provided by the initiative and ensure meaningful impact within their respective communities.
Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr Adeiza Abdulazeez, welcomed Aina and his team, expressing optimism that the collaboration would further strengthen healthcare delivery in the state.

Earlier, the Executive Director of the Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA), Dr Musa Muazu, applauded Governor Ahmed Ododo’s commitment to healthcare infrastructure and operations.
Muazu appealed to the Federal Government and partners for additional support, noting that collaborative efforts remain crucial for sustaining progress in the state’s healthcare system.
He stressed that the NPHCDA’s visit underscored its commitment to supporting state governments in improving healthcare delivery and outcomes nationwide.
“The agency’s partnership with states and stakeholders will further enhance primary healthcare services in Kogi and across the country,” Muazu said.
