The Nigeria’s Super Falcons arrived at the forecourt of the Presidential villa at 4:35 pm to present their 10th WAFCON trophy to the President.
The reception fulfilled a post-match promise made by President Tinubu during a video call with team captain Rasheedat Ajibade, her teammates, and Nigerian officials. It also underscores his administration’s renewed dedication to advancing sports development and supporting the welfare of Nigerian athletes.

Over the past 10 years, the Super Falcons have won four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024, bringing their total to 10,after beating host country Morocco 3-2 in the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations at Rabat’s Olympic Stadium, clinching their 10th continental title.
