A Ukrainian drone strike hit the Russian Black Sea oil port of Novorossiysk early on Sunday, damaging at least one vessel and briefly disrupting operations, Russian and Ukrainian sources said.
Regional authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar region reported that air defences intercepted several drones, but fragments from one struck a fuel storage area and a docked ship, causing a fire that was later contained.
Kyiv’s security sources told Reuters that the attack was part of an ongoing campaign to undermine Russia’s oil export infrastructure, which it says is used to fund Moscow’s war effort in Ukraine.

Russia’s defence ministry said the assault was repelled “without major consequences,” though social media footage verified by Reuters showed flames near loading terminals. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
Novorossiysk, located on the northeastern coast of the Black Sea, is one of Russia’s most important oil export hubs, handling millions of tonnes of crude and petroleum products each month.
The strike marks the latest in a series of Ukrainian attacks on strategic energy and logistics targets deep inside Russian territory, as Kyiv seeks to pressure Moscow ahead of winter.
