President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation Programme, featuring the deployment of over 2,000 advanced tractors, 50 industrial-grade bulldozers for land preparation, 12 fully equipped mobile workshops, and more than 9,000 specialised farming implements.

Speaking at the launch on Monday in Abuja, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming Nigeria into a global agricultural powerhouse.

He also disclosed that the Federal Government is collaborating with international partners to equip Nigerian youths with skills in modern agriculture, thereby promoting financial independence and self-reliance.

“We have here over 2,000 advanced tractors, 50 industrial-grade land preparation bulldozers, 12 fully equipped mobile workshops, and over 9,000 specialised farming implements,” he said.

According to the President, the deployment of the equipment will boost mechanisation services, create employment opportunities, and make farming more appealing to young people.

“You don’t have to use an 18th-century method for a 21st-century agricultural implement,” he added.

Tinubu noted that the ongoing reforms in the sector are designed to make agriculture more attractive and accessible to the nation’s youth.
