President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, following allegations regarding his academic credentials.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to Onanuga, Nnaji, in his resignation letter, thanked President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the country, while claiming that he had become a target of political blackmail.
President Tinubu, while accepting the resignation, appreciated Nnaji’s service and wished him success in his future endeavours. Nnaji was appointed minister in August 2023.

According to Onanuga, Nnaji claimed in his letter that he had been the target of blackmail by political opponents.
President Tinubu, in response, thanked the former minister for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours. Nnaji was appointed to the cabinet in August 2023.
