Britain’s Prince Harry made his first public appearance on Thursday since returning to the United Kingdom with his wife, Meghan, after six years in California.
Harry, the younger son of King Charles, returned to Britain last month with Meghan and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, in a move that reportedly surprised even members of their close family.
The prince attended the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards in London, an event linked to the Invictus Games, the international sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick military veterans that he founded.

Earlier in the day, Harry spoke at an event focused on improving care for children wounded in conflicts. The event was organised by charity Save the Children and Imperial College London.
His public engagements came on a busy day for the British royal family, with King Charles hosting a conference for artificial intelligence leaders amid criticism contained in a forthcoming book by the brother of his late first wife, Diana.
Charles Spencer’s book is being serialised by the Daily Mail, with extracts published on Thursday claiming that the King sounded “like a lottery winner” following Diana’s death.
