President Tinubu Joins 2027 Election Race Under APC

Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, has officially joined the 2027 general election race following the purchase of his Nomination forms from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The forms, valued at N100 million, were picked up at the Abuja Continental Hotel by James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, alongside party loyalists and support groups.

Addressing concerns over who funded the forms, Faleke clarified that the purchase was a collective effort.

“Before today, there have been too many support groups saying they will bring the nomination form for Mr. President. The question is, who actually paid?” he said.

“For all support groups who have contributed money, I have done so on their behalf—on behalf of Nigerians. There is no one particular person who has done this.”

He expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s chances: “By the grace of God, he will contest and he will win the election.”

Faleke also revealed that more than 1,000 contributors, mainly from Lagos, were involved in funding the purchase. “It is not just one person. All of us cannot come here, so representatives are sent, and I am lucky to be one of them.”

Beyond the presidential form, Faleke disclosed he also obtained nomination forms for other aspirants, including Lagos governorship hopeful Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamza, his own re-election bid, and plans to pick that of Senator Idiat Adebule.

Responding to reports of a coalition of opposition parties planning to field a single candidate against President Tinubu, Faleke dismissed concerns: “Political parties coming together is part of democracy. When we do our work, they will do their own.”
