Minister Nnaji noted that Nigeria is particularly keen on leveraging Brazil’s extensive experience in ethanol and green fuel technologies. This aligns with Nigeria’s ongoing development of the Green Methanol Industrial Complex the largest such initiative on the African continent.
Both parties agreed on the importance of structured partnerships, exchange programmes, and the establishment of a proposed Nigeria–Brazil Innovation and Technology Framework. The framework is expected to promote joint innovation, local manufacturing, and sustainable industrial growth across both nations.
As part of the outcomes of the engagement, the Ministry announced plans to convene a Nigeria–Brazil Science and Innovation Dialogue within the next six to twelve months. The dialogue will serve as a platform to formalise commitments and co-develop flagship projects in areas of strategic interest.
According to Chief Nnaji, the partnership will not only strengthen bilateral relations but also create tangible opportunities for young innovators, researchers, and institutions in both countries to thrive on a global stage.
The meeting is seen as a significant step towards deepening Nigeria–Brazil relations through what the Minister described as “tech diplomacy” that centres on innovation and sustainability.
