Nasarawa Assembly Tasks NSIRS on Revenue Generation Boost

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has tasked the new management of the Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service (NSIRS) to redouble its efforts to improve the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

The House said this would enable the state government to provide more dividends of democracy to the people.

The Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mr Hudu Alhaji-Hudu, made the call when the board’s management appeared before the committee on its 2026 budget performance in Lafia.

Hudu urged the board’s management to work hard to surpass the revenue generation record of the previous administration.

He called on them to be prudent, transparent, accountable, and, above all, to have the fear of God while discharging their duties.

Hudu said the state government uses revenue to provide basic amenities for the overall development of the state.

The committee chairman assured them of support and collaboration to take the board to the next level of development.

Earlier, a board member, Mr Ibrahim Hamza, commended the Assembly for its strong synergy with the executive, saying the collaboration was yielding positive results in the state.

He appreciated the committee for supporting the board’s activities.

Hamza, however, solicited more support from the committee to enable the board to generate more revenue for the state government’s coffers.
