The Katsina State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has promoted a total of 263 officers, the state Controller of the service, Mr Umar Baba, announced on Friday.
The announcement was made during the decoration of 41 of the promoted officers in Katsina. The promotions cover multiple ranks, including Assistant Controller of Corrections (ACC), Chief Superintendent of Corrections (CSC), Superintendent of Corrections (SC), Deputy Superintendent of Corrections (DSC), and Assistant Superintendent of Corrections I (ASC I).
Mr Baba commended the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for approving the promotion of 16,586 NCoS personnel nationwide, and also praised the Controller-General of NCoS, Sylvester Ndidi-Nwakuche, for his leadership.

He urged the promoted officers to demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and dedication in justifying their new ranks.
Some of the officers pledged to redouble their efforts and commitment to advancing the service. Notably, the Public Relations Officer of the Katsina Command, Najib Idris-Kunduru, was promoted and decorated with the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Corrections (DSC).
The promotion ceremony was attended by officials from sister security agencies, government representatives, heads of custodial centres, retired officers, and family members of the promoted personnel.
