The Central African Republic (CAR) has made a significant stride in its electoral timeline with the release of provisional voter lists, just five months ahead of the general elections set for December 2025.
The National Elections Authority (ANE) has displayed the lists at polling centers in Bangui and various provincial towns.
Originally launched in December 2024, the voter registration process experienced notable setbacks due to technical, financial, and security-related challenges.
While many citizens have welcomed the move as a step toward credible elections, concerns have also emerged over issues such as omitted names and duplicate entries.

In response, the ANE has opened a formal complaints period, allowing voters to review and challenge the published lists.
Election observers and civil society organizations have called for prompt action to address these irregularities, stressing the importance of a transparent and inclusive process.
The release of the provisional lists marks a key milestone on the path toward what many hope will be a peaceful and credible election.
