APC Clears Oyebanji, Omolayo for Ekiti Governorship Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared the incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, to contest in the party’s governorship primary election scheduled for October 27, 2025, ahead of the 2026 general elections.

This was disclosed in a statement by the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, following the 179th meeting of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) held at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja under the chairmanship of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.

According to Meseko, Mrs Atinuke Omolayo was also cleared to participate in the primary, while two other aspirants  Mr Ojo Kayode and Mrs Abimbola Olawumi  were disqualified for failing to meet the requirements stipulated in the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act.

“Their applications did not conform with the provisions of the party’s constitution and the extant provisions of the electoral act,” Meseko said.

Mrs Fidelia Njoeze, Comrade Peter Chime, Mrs Oby Ajih, Mr Chiedozie Nwafor, and Mr Emma Ekeh. The committee will be inaugurated on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
