Adamawa Assembly Receives Nominees for Judicial Service Commission

The Adamawa State House of Assembly on Tuesday received the names of Justice Danladi Mohammed, Barrister Hassan Mai-Dawa, and Mrs. Mary Karzai as nominees for appointment to the State Judicial Service Commission.

The names were presented during plenary by the Speaker, Mr. Bathiya Wesley, following a letter sent by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

After deliberation, the Speaker referred the nomination letter to the House Standing Committee on Judiciary for further action. The committee is expected to screen the nominees and report back to the House for subsequent legislative steps.

Also during Tuesday’s sitting, the Assembly passed a motion sponsored by the Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Jijjiwa, urging the state government to address the deplorable condition of the Jada–Kojoli Road in Jada Local Government Area.

Jijjiwa stressed that government intervention would significantly ease the hardship faced by commuters who rely on the road.

The House subsequently adjourned its sitting to August 11.
