Yemen’s Houthi rebels fired five missiles at the presidential palace complex in the southern city of Aden on Thursday, killing two security guards, according to government officials.
Yemen’s Information Minister, Moammar al-Eryani, said the country’s prime minister and cabinet members who were at the Maashiq presidential palace complex were unharmed in the attack.
Two government officials confirmed the deaths to newsmen.

The Houthi-run Saba news agency, citing a military official, said the group had targeted a military operations headquarters operated by Saudi officers within the complex, as well as weapons depots.
The group’s military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, said the strike on what he described as a Saudi military operations headquarters in Aden was part of the Houthis’ declared policy of “targeting Saudi military build-ups wherever they are”.
The attack underscores continuing tensions involving the Iran-aligned Houthi group and Saudi Arabia, which has played a major role in Yemen’s conflict.
