Will Smith Reportedly Set for Indian Cinema Debut

Hollywood actor Will Smith is reportedly in talks to join Indian filmmaker Atlee’s upcoming science-fiction film Raaka, potentially marking Smith’s first major role in Indian cinema.

According to recent reports, Smith has been approached to play the main antagonist in the film, which stars Indian actor Allu Arjun in the lead role. However, the filmmakers have not officially confirmed Smith’s casting.

Reports say discussions over Smith’s involvement have been ongoing, with his shooting dates reportedly being worked out. An overseas location for his scenes is also expected to depend on the actor’s availability.

A source cited by Mid-Day said Smith’s costumes for the project had already been finalised, although details of his character and the filming schedule remain undisclosed.

Allu Arjun Leads Raaka

Raaka, previously known by its working title AA22xA6, is directed by Atlee, whose previous major film was the Shah Rukh Khan-led action thriller Jawan.

The film is produced by Sun Pictures and stars Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone. The project was officially given the title Raaka in April 2026.

Reports have described the film as a large-scale science-fiction action production, with Allu Arjun reportedly playing multiple characters. Some plot details circulating in the media, including references to parallel universes, have not been officially confirmed by the filmmakers.

If the reports are confirmed, Smith would become one of the biggest Hollywood names to appear in a major Indian production.

The actor has previously expressed interest in working in Indian cinema and has spoken about his admiration for Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.

There have also been reports linking Shah Rukh Khan to Raaka, although his involvement has not been officially confirmed either.

For now, Smith’s reported casting remains unconfirmed, with negotiations and scheduling reportedly still being worked out.
