Zambia Issues Travel Advisory to Citizens in the Gulf Region

The Zambian government on Sunday issued a travel and security advisory for its citizens living in or visiting the Gulf region, citing growing safety concerns following recent military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran.

In the advisory, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation urged Zambians in affected areas to remain vigilant, stay indoors where possible, and avoid travelling near military sites or key government infrastructure.

The ministry also recommended that non-essential travel to the region be postponed until conditions stabilise and official updates indicate it is safe to move.

Zambian citizens were advised to keep in regular contact with the nearest diplomatic mission for registration and support and to ensure their travel documents remain valid and securely accessible.

“Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Zambian missions accredited to Gulf countries, is maintaining ongoing engagement with relevant authorities to receive timely and accurate updates on the evolving situation,” the advisory stated.

It added that officials are closely monitoring developments on the ground and will provide further guidance as the situation unfolds.
