Tinubu Arrives Abu Dhabi for Sustainability Week Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi to take part in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit, a major global forum focused on advancing sustainable development.

The President arrived in the United Arab Emirates late on Sunday night and was formally received at about 11:30 p.m. by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Tinubu is attending the summit following an invitation from the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who requested Nigeria’s participation in the high-level international gathering.

The week-long summit, which commenced on January 11, brings together global leaders from government, business and civil society to exchange ideas and develop solutions aimed at shaping a more sustainable future.

Held under the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” the 2026 edition of ADSW focuses on translating ambition into measurable action across innovation, finance and human capital. The programme highlights practical strategies for strengthening climate resilience, accelerating the transition to clean energy and promoting inclusive economic growth.

During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to hold discussions with international leaders on sustainable development initiatives, climate action and investment opportunities aligned with Nigeria’s national development goals.

The President is scheduled to return to Nigeria at the conclusion of the summit.
