President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the constitution of the boards of the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
UBEC Board Appointments
Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, appointed in July, continues to serve as chair of the UBEC Board. The board also includes representatives from Nigeria’s six geo-political zones: Uchendu Ikechi Mbaegbulem (South East), Gift Ngo (South South), Mrs Ibiwunmi Akinnola (South West), Dr Meiro Mandara (North East), Dr Abdu Imam Saulawa (North West), and Professor Paul Ibukun-Olu Bolorunduro (North Central). Members and the chairman will serve a four-year term in the first instance.
Bank of Agriculture Board Appointments
President Tinubu confirmed the appointments of Muhammad Babangida as chairman and Ayo Sotinrin as managing director of the Bank of Agriculture, as previously announced.
Three executive directors and five non-executive directors were also appointed to represent Nigeria’s six geo-political zones.

NADF Board Appointments
President Tinubu had earlier appointed Muhammad Abu Ibrahim as executive secretary and CEO of NADF in October 2023 to lead the young agency, which aims to boost access to affordable capital for farmers and agripreneurs.
The newly constituted NADF board will play a pivotal role in guiding the agency. Key appointments include:

Mallam Bello Maccido (North West) – Board Chairman, pioneer chairman of FBNQuest Merchant Bank Limited, with over 30 years of experience in financial services.

Dr Nelson Henry Essien (South-South, Akwa Ibom) – Financial consultant and seasoned banker.

Amina Ahmed Habib (North West, Jigawa) – Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Akinyinka Olufela Akinnola (South West, Ondo) – Engineer with diversified business interests.
