INEC to Deploy 1.4 Million NYSC Members for 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced progress in the ongoing process for the registration of new political parties, with eight out of fourteen pre-qualified associations successfully completing the upload of required documentation.

In a statement issued after its regular meeting on Thursday, 30th October 2025, the Commission said it reviewed developments since its earlier update of 11th September 2025 and assessed the progress made by associations seeking registration.

Following a briefing for the 14 pre-qualified associations on 17th September 2025, INEC opened a dedicated portal for the submission of documents between Wednesday, 18th September and Friday, 18th October 2025.

As of Saturday, 19th October, the eight associations that completed their submissions are:

  1. All Democratic Alliance (ADA)

  2. Citizens Democratic Alliance (CDA)

  3. Abundance Social Party (ASP)

  4. African Alliance Party (AAP)

  5. Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA)

  6. Green Future Party (GFP)

  7. National Democratic Party (NDP)

  8. Peoples Freedom Party (PFP)

According to the Commission, the next phase of the process will involve a detailed assessment and verification of the information and documents provided by the associations. The review will ensure compliance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2022, and INEC’s Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties (2022).

INEC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusivity, transparency, and the deepening of Nigeria’s democratic culture through a fair and credible registration process.
