The Startup Consultative Forum (SCF) has successfully concluded its election process, resulting in the emergence of four representatives who will serve on the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NCDIE).

The NCDIE, established under the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA), is the highest decision-making body responsible for driving the growth, sustainability, and competitiveness of the country’s startup ecosystem.

Coordinated by the Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation (ONDI) under the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the election produced Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, Victoria Manya, Charles Uchenna Emembolu, and Abba Ibrahim Gamawa as members of the Council. They are expected to serve a two-year term.

Their inclusion will ensure that grassroots innovators, digital entrepreneurs, and technology leaders have a direct voice in shaping national policies and strategies that influence Nigeria’s innovation and startup landscape.

The election followed the inauguration of the Startup Consultative Forum earlier in 2025, where members across the six geopolitical zones nominated and voted for their preferred candidates.

According to ONDI, the transparent and inclusive process reflects its commitment to strengthening collaboration between the government, innovators, and industry stakeholders.

The election of startup representatives to the NCDIE marks a major milestone in implementing the Nigeria Startup Act, giving founders a platform to participate directly in policy discussions that shape the innovation economy.

It is expected that this development will build greater trust between government and the startup community, improve policy feedback mechanisms, and foster a more supportive environment for young entrepreneurs to thrive.
