The leadership of the House of Representatives has joined prominent Nigerians in honouring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the occasion of his 74th birthday, with Speaker Abbas Tajudeen and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu praising his governance style and contributions to national development.
Speaker Abbas, in a goodwill message, lauded President Tinubu as a statesman whose impact spans democracy advocacy, public administration, philanthropy, political strategy, and what he described as a remarkable ability to be a “builder of people across divides.” He said the President’s long-standing political journey has equipped him with the experience and fortitude that now guide his service to the nation.

According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker noted that President Tinubu’s background in both the private and public sectors continues to reflect in the “sterling performance” of his administration.
Speaker Abbas highlighted reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda, stating that Nigeria is witnessing significant recalibration of its economic and governance frameworks for the benefit of current and future generations. He observed that the President’s early decisions in office demonstrated uncommon political courage, describing them as bold steps that have begun to deliver positive outcomes.
Referencing remarks he delivered at the APC National Convention on Friday, Speaker Abbas reiterated: “Today, the foundations are being reset. Revenues to states have improved. Transparency has increased. Infrastructure is advancing. Security coordination is strengthening. These are not isolated steps. They are part of a clear direction.”
He also acknowledged that President Tinubu’s leadership has strengthened the All Progressives Congress (APC), making it, in his words, “the most popular political party in the nation’s history.”
The Speaker appealed to Nigerians to pray for the President, noting that all citizens—irrespective of political, religious, or ethnic background stand to benefit from the administration’s reforms. He wished him long life, renewed strength, and the wisdom to continue steering the nation “towards propriety, peace, and unity.”
Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu also conveyed his birthday greetings to President Tinubu, describing his leadership as visionary and transformative. He commended the President’s commitment to national advancement, particularly through policies aimed at stimulating economic growth and long-term development.
Kalu said the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda is already laying a solid foundation for improved welfare and prosperity, adding that he remains committed to supporting the President’s policy direction and working with him to build a more united and prosperous Nigeria.
Expressing confidence in the President’s capacity to uplift the nation, the Deputy Speaker prayed for continued wisdom and good health for him.
In his message, Kalu said: “His Excellency, as you celebrate another year of life, I acknowledge your dedication to public service. I celebrate not just your life, but the impact your administration has had on our country. Your visionary leadership has shaped our nation’s destiny. May your vision continue to guide us towards greatness. I wish you many more years in good health and the wisdom to continue piloting the affairs of our nation. Happy Birthday, Your Excellency. Congratulations, Sir.”
